Healthcare That Heals the Whole Person
Healthcare should heal the whole person: body, mind, and spirit, not just those who can afford coverage.
As a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor for Adults, I have trained community leaders, educators, and everyday neighbors to recognize the signs of mental health crises and respond with compassion and care. I have seen firsthand how untreated mental illness, stress, trauma, and addiction ripple through families, schools, workplaces, and faith communities.
At the same time, too many Hoosiers are losing health insurance or being priced out of it altogether. Rising premiums, higher deductibles, shrinking networks, and unexpected coverage changes are forcing families to delay care, skip prescriptions, or rely on emergency rooms as a last resort. Health insurance should provide security, not uncertainty.
In the Indiana State Senate, I will fight to:
Protect access to affordable, stable health insurance for working families, seniors, and small business employees
Address rising premiums, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs that strain household budgets
Make mental health care fully integrated and equally covered alongside physical health
Expand community-based mental health services and crisis response
Reduce healthcare costs while protecting quality and patient choice
Healthcare is not a luxury; it is a matter of dignity, stability, and justice. When people have reliable coverage and timely access to care, families are stronger, workers are healthier, and communities thrive.
